The Department of Geology is pleased to announce that an International Cooperation Agreement between the University of Georgia and the the Suez Canal University, Arab Republic of Egypt has been completed. This agreement provides the ability for both Universities to engage in cooperative educational, research, and outreach activities. This agreement provides the opportunity for:

  1. Student and Faculty exchange
  2. Study abroad
  3. Collaborative research programs
  4. Seminars and workshops
  5. Outreach programs

International Cooperative Agreements (ICAs) help bring parties to the table for further discussions and provide evidence of cooperation when seeking funding. Simple ICAs are customarily executed using UGA’s standard form and are signed on behalf of UGA by the Associate Provost for Global Engagement. While they do not commit UGA to specific activities, ICAs do represent a symbolic commitment to an international partnership and require careful consideration.
