About the Speaker:

Dr. Laura Bilenker is an assistant professor in the Department of Geosciences at Auburn University. Her Economic Geology and Geochemistry research group uses geochemistry as a tool to understand how metals move and become concentrated in the crust. In particular, Laura is interested in applying metal stable isotope systems to understand the formation and evolution of ore deposits through field-based and experimental studies. She earned her PhD from the University of Michigan, MS from the University of California, Riverside, and her BS from the University of Maryland. Laura also spent time as a postdoctoral fellow in the Pacific Centre for Isotopic and Geochemical Research at the University of British Columbia.
